This Is Why Sabina Chege Wants To Dump Uhuru’s Side

Published:

Murang’a woman rep Sabina Wanjiru Chege has threatened to quit President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party sooner than anticipated.

According to Sabina Chege, there are issues within the ruling Jubilee party that should be addressed within a month before it brings it to its knees.

Sabina Chege while addressing the press conference stated that the country was barely seven months into the election; however, it was unfortunate that the Jubilee party officials had not given politicians the direction going into the future.

The woman rep also cited their woes on the ground since the lack of direction and confusion has even barred them from printing campaign posters. As a result, she made it clear that they need to be aligned with a specific political vehicle in a bid to drum up support for the same.

“We need direction so as to plan and start canvassing for votes. Right now there is too much confusion so much that we cannot even print posters,” she explained.

“Time is running out because by February politicians now need to be associated with a particular vehicle and drum up support for it.”

So far, Jubilee deputy party leader William Ruto has jumped ship and formed his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party following a bitter political fallout with Jubilee party leader president Uhuru Kenyatta who is on his final term.

Sabina Chege has been closer to the handshake side and has even joined the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga in various parts of the country to sell the Azimio la Umoja which has now been declared a movement.

With regards to the seat she will be vying for, the woman rep who has been aiming to replace Governor Mwangi wa Iria did not discuss much about the Murang’a top seat which is usually hotly contested.

The legislator is one of those Mt. Kenya leaders that have stood with President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga in their push for the defunct Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
