Drama was witnessed in Tana River county after a pastor caught his wife red-handed making out with his assistant in the church during a night vigil.
According to a church member Joan Mulei who attended the night prayer, the pastor and his wife left the church at dawn only for her to return a few minutes later.
When she returned, the preacher’s wife found a few members of worship team and the assistant pastor in a meeting and she joined them.
The pastor’s wife however disrupted the meeting as she kept interjecting while people spoke, her move made the meeting to end prematurely and everyone else but her and the assistant pastor left for their homes.
The youthful Tana River assistant pastor and the senior pastor’s wife were left behind as they appeared to be holding another exclusive meeting.
“While we were walking home, we met the senior pastor at the junction to the church, he looked worried and asked if we had seen his wife, we told him she was still held in a meeting with his assistant,” Joan Mulei said while speaking to the press.
The pastor headed to the church to pick up his wife as he feared insecurity in the town following a rise in violent robberies which had seen some victims killed.
All hell broke loose when the pastor got to the church. He found the lights switched off and the main door closed. He decided to use that rear door where was confronted with disturbing scene of his wife and assistant lost in a moment of intense passion.
The assistant was kissing and caressing the pastor’s wife unaware of the presence of the senior pastor who walked in on them.
The irate pastor descended on his assistant with blows and kicks before a few people living near the church responding to yells arrived at the scene.
“We heard a man scream, Yesuuu!!!Yesu!!! And we thought he had been attacked so we ran to his rescue since we knew the voice of the pastor only to find him bringing down the church while the wife was pleading with him to calm,” said Ali Mohammed, a resident living near the church.
The pastor started demolishing the iron sheet built church even before the break of morning light. He called boda boda to carry the iron sheet.
The vexed man of cloth left the town for an unknown place and has not been picking up calls ever since. His has also been reported to have fled their matrimonial home out of shame.
Church members have since dismissed the assistant pastor and have also resolved to rebuild the church and cleanse the altar following the shameful act.
The members are also looking for their pastor in a bid to calm him down and also to implore him to continue leading the Tana River church.
