After the fall of former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, which governor is next? Well, rariedanews.com has reliably been informed that Siaya Governor Colonel Rasanga could be the one facing the axe soon.
A reliable source tells us the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has received incriminating evidence on massive plunder by the said Governor and his accomplices and arrests are imminent.
Although Rasangais a close associate of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, it is said Raila is ready to sacrifice him and throw him under the bus in order to show that the fight against corruption is not only targeted towards those perceived to be deputy president William Ruto’s backers.
“It seems that one of the principals of BBI want to lead by example by starting from his home county just as President Uhuru did with his home county Kiambu and so the one Governor who thought he was untouchable could be in for a rude shock,” said our source.
There has been a feeling within some quarters that only Jubilee Governors, especially the ones supporting Ruto are targeted by the DPP. The arrest and subsequent charging of the governor from Nyanza will erase this notion.
Among the issues the Governor Rasanga is facing is that his County allegedly used Sh5 Million to pay First Class Air Tickets for his wife on several occasions.
Investigations by EACC officers also revealed that the County further spent more money on air tickets for the Governor’s children, niece, and political friends.
To aid in their investigations, the detectives obtained tickets from two travel agents, Pel Travel and Kisumu Link, through which the County paid for the air tickets.
Further, a report by the former Auditor General, Edward Ouko showed his County spent Sh141 Million without following the law.
