Ranalo Foods owned by Ja Uyoma to be auctioned over rent arrears

The popular restaurant in the heart of Nairobi that serves African delicacies in different traditional cuisines is about the be auctioned.

The Ranalo Foods restaurant popularly known as K’Osewe has been known over the years for being one of the go-to- restaurants and even a favorite place for politicians to have their meals at. The former Prime Minister is even a fan of the place.

The restaurant is owned by William Osewe who hails from Uyoma.

Sadly, the popular restaurant is up for auction to cover the rent arrears that have been piling up in the last few months.

With the current situation of the pandemic, COVID-19, the restaurant hasn’t been getting customers the way they used to.

There’s hasn’t been an official statement released by the K’Osewe higher-ups so far.

K’Osewe is the first popular Restaurant in Nairobi to be a victim of COVID-19’s side effects of the economy.

 

Ever since they opened up shop a couple of years ago, K’Osewe has never closed their doors because the business has always been booming.

Other than the effects of COVID-19. Kosewe has been a downward spiral since Mr William Osewe was shot in Nairobi’s Kasarani estate in 2016.

Mr Osewe was shot in the stomach near Roasters along Thika Road following an argument with one of his friends.

According to reports, Mr Osewe and the attacker and his attacker Oywa Mboya had been spotted together taking lunch before they reportedly got into an argument over a woman.

It is at this point that Mboya, a licensed gun holder, shot the businessman thrice with one bullet exiting and injuring a security guard in the area.

The assailant later surrendered to police officers claiming that he was acting in self-defence since Mr Osewe had attacked him first.

He was immediately disarmed while the victim was rushed to hospital as the police commenced investigations into the incident.

K’Osewe is well known for its tantalizing fish. The eatery has in the past played host to CORD leader Raila Odinga as he had lunch with leaders arrested and detained at Pangani and Muthaiga Police stations over hate speech.

Odinga enjoyed a meal alongside Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, Ngunjri Wambugu (Bahati), Aisha Jumwa (Kilifi), Florence Mutua (Busia), Timothy Bosire (Kitutu Masaba), Junet Mohamed (Suna East) and Senator Johnson Muthama of Machakos
