The Kenya Kwanza Government, led by President William Ruto, blames the Azimio One Kenya leader Raila Odinga for failing in his oversight role as the opposition leader in Uhuru’s government.
During the commissioning of Thiba Damn in Kirinyaga County, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua congratulated Raila Odinga for his oversight role in keeping the current government in check. However, he blamed him for failing to do his role as the opposition leader in former President Uhuru’s government.
“Wewe mzee wa kuzimia, unaongea mzuri sana na hiyo ndiyo kazi yako ya kukosoa sisi. Kama ulifanya hiyo kazi ya kukosoa serikali ya Uhuru Kenyatta, hatungefika hapa tuko. You abandoned your duty to oversight the government, serikali ikaporwa na wewe na watu yako mkaingia kwa uporaji.” Said Gachagua.
The DP blamed Odinga for being part of those who took part in squandering all the government’s money. He told the Azimio leader to stop his complaints concerning the high prices of goods because he failed to perform his duty well.
“Sasa unalalamika bei iko juu na wewe ndio mwenye uliwacha kazi yako ukawachilia wakora wakaiba pesa yote ya Kenya na we ukaingia pale kukula hiyo pesa.” added the DP.
Gachagua pointed fingers at Raila for using the government’s money to run the BBI, which failed. He claims that the 50 billion used for the BBI campaigns would have helped Kenyans.
“Wewe ndio ulichanganya serikali yetu ukachukua 50 billion ingesaidia wakenya ukapeleka kwa BBI ikapotea.” Rigathi said.
Raila was also blamed for using money belonging to the Azimio project. Therefore, he was told to stop complaining since he is the source of all the problems that Kenyans are going through.
Gachagua told Odinga to do his work of keeping the government in check to ensure good work goes on. He, therefore, urges him to stop the blame and do his work as is expected of him.
“Anza kukosoa sisi kwa yale ambayo tunafanya. Yale mlifanya na serikali ya Jubilee, hiyo unyamaze kwa sababu wewe ndio ulichangia. Na umepoteza pesa mingi sana mwaka ine ukakoroga rais wetu kazi yote ikasimama.” finished Gachagua.
