A policeman was on Tuesday night shot and killed by unknown gunmen in Landi Mawe, Industrial area, Nairobi after paying a visit to his female friend.
Corporal Mark Kiptui was shot inside his car moments after he left the friend’s place. He was based at the Industrial Area Police station.
The unfortunate incident also saw one of his middle aged friend shot in the 10pm melee. However, the man still remains unidentified.
According to the police reports, the officer was attacked by four suspected armed robbers who took all the money he had and other personal belongings.
After the attack, the late police tried to resist and it is then that he was shot right on the head and passed on instantly.
The body of the unidentified man was transferred to the City Mortuary while that of the policeman was taken to the Kenyatta University Hospital mortuary.

In the meantime, the female friend still remains unknown and it is not clear whether they were just friends or lovers.
As a result, the investigative officers are trying to locate the woman so that she can help in the investigations.
