There was shock and disbelief along Kisumu Busia road on Friday evening after the hearse carrying the body of the late Luo musician Ndogo jaraha was involved in an accident.
According to eyewitnesses on the ground, the hearse which was accompanied by hundreds of bodaboda youths was over speeding before it knocked one of them.
Sadly, the bodaboda guy died on the spot as the coffin carrier plunged into the roadside, leaving the coffin with some cracks.
Ndogo Jaraha was involved in a serious road accident with his three band members which left them dead on the spot. The musician was headed to his home in Kisumu from Nairobi at night when the unfortunate incident occurred. The four died on the spot with the vehicle getting destroyed beyond repairs. Their personal car and a bus were involved in a head-on coalition at Kijabe along the Nairobi-Nakuru road. Ndogo and his band had performed at a nightclub in Nairobi.
“We have lost Ndogo Jaraah, a promising Ohangla artiste, through a road accident. He was on his way back to Kisumu after performing in Nairobi last night. Rest in peace,“reported one Wuod Fibi.
According to the sister of the musician, the artist packed a few of his personal items and bid them bye as he went to perform in the club.
“He changed into his warmer clothes, packed a few clothes and personal things before he bid one of our sisters who stays with him goodbye. He said they would return by Monday. They only had one performance in Nairobi,” she revealed.
Fast Forward, it seems the spirit of the accident is still haunting the late musician on his death bed following the Friday’s event involving the hearse he was being ferried on.
“It’s a sad situation because Ndogo Jaraha died with his three band members. Then on the eve of his burial, the hearse carrying his body got into another road accident which killed a boda boda rider,” Reported the source familiar with the accident.
