Maria Actress Dorea Chege Upbeat About Her Chance Of Winning Nairobi Women Rep After TIFA Releases Latest Poll

Published:

Dorea Chege, popularly known as Maggy on Citizen TV drama series Maria, is seeking to be the next Women Representative for Nairobi county in the forthcoming August 9th general election.

Chege has revealed she is still optimistic about her chance of winning the Nairobi Women Rep seat even after results of recent opinion poll painted a grim picture for her political ambition.

Research firm Trends Insights Africa (TIFA) on Thursday March 10th released results of opinion poll conducted in Nairobi, Murang’a and Busia counties.

According to the polls, Esther Passaris is the most favorite candidate to win in the Nairobi Women Rep race.

The opinion poll shows the incumbent Nairobi Women Rep who is in ODM party leading with 34%. She is followed by Millicent Omanga of UDA party with 9% while former Nairobi Women Rep Rachel Shebesh of Jubilee party is third with 2%.

Dorea Chege, who is vying as an independent candidate, is nowhere to be seen in TIFA opinion poll, she is on the segment of ‘other candidates’ who were rated at 1%.

Even though TIFA polls paints a grim picture for Dorea Chege, she is still upbeat about her chance of winning. She took to social media after the opinion poll was released to announce that she will not give up.

“We don’t give up around here!,” wrote Dorea Chege.

Dorea Chege has a reason to be optimistic about her chances of winning, TIFA survey was conducted between March 2nd and March 8th and only involved 70 respondents in Nairobi.

70 respondents in a city county of over 2 million voters is not even a fraction of a representative sample of voters to make a conclusive opinion about how voters will cast their ballots.

Chege gained fame through her acting role in Citizen TV’s series Maria. Maybe if all of her fans who watched Maria decide to vote for her she can stand a better chance of winning Nairobi Women Rep seat in August 9th polls.
