Published:

Kilimani estate has ranked 28th position globally, in the latest ranking of time out, among 51 entries of the world coolest neighborhoods in the world.

The area was recognized for its thriving culture, its active nightlife, the variety of its eateries, and entertainment venues.

Sea Point in Cape Town, which ranked 38th, was the second African suburb to make the list. The area was hailed for its breathtaking views of the sun setting and was described as an Oceanside community teeming with quirky local businesses. Being given a direct account of waking up to a stunning sunrise, swimming in the morning, going for a walk on the beach, having lunch by the ocean, and living on an estate where the ocean touches nature.

Festac Town in Lagos, Nigeria, which debuted at rank 50, was the final African neighborhood to make the list. The city, which is sometimes referred to as the “festival city,” has received plaudits for its cutting-edge urban way of life.

The top African communities on the list, in addition to Kilimani, were Sea Point and Festac, with Kilimani being the most prominently featured Kenyan community.

The top neighborhood in the world was Colonial Americana in Guadalajara, Mexico. The town was cited in the list as being the center of Mexico’s underground culture.

Although Kenyans have expressed differing opinions on the most recent rating, some have claimed it is because the neighborhood is closest to the city’s central business center while others have said it has the necessary characteristics to be the coolest in Kenya, let alone Africa.

Even though at one point it was the nation’s largest source of income in terms of gross domestic product, this comes at a time when Kenyan tourism is struggling.

With this ratings, the kenyan tourism and hospitality sector is hoping for a turn of events with kenya still being in the picture.
