Musalia Mudavadi’s last born daughter Maryanne Mudavadi, on Sunday, stunned many with her emotional speech after she was called upon to welcome her father to address delegates at Amani National Congress’ National Delegates Congress (NDC) at the Bomas of Kenya.
Speaking to the delegates, Maryanne reminded Kenyans of the good deeds her father has done to the country ever since he stormed the political scene in 1989.
“Under President Moi’s tenure, he served as the MP of Sabatia, the minister of supplies and trade, the minister of finance, the minister of agriculture and the minister of information transportation. He also served as the seventh vice president of the Republic of Kenya. Under the presidency of retired President Mwai Kibaki, my dad served as the Deputy Prime Minister of Kenya,” Maryanne narrated.
Mudavadi’s only daughter told Kenyans that the experience her father has garnered over the years has made him a very prominent figure in Kenyan politics.
She further praised her father for being a champion of change and an inspiration to many people in the country.
“My dad is the champion of change to Kenyans regards of their age, gender, ethnicity, and class. He is an inspiration to both older and younger leaders and role models to many,” she said.
“Considering all the sacrifices he has made for the country due to his extremely selfless nature, kind heart and integrity I stand here very proudly to say that this is my dad.”
