Retired Homa Bay Catholic Bishop Linus Okok Okwach has died.
Bishop Emeritus Okwach died at St Monica Hospital in Kisumu on Saturday night.
Kisumu Catholic Archbishop Philip Anyolo, who confirmed his death, said the retired bishop died while undergoing treatment for injuries he sustained after he fell.
“Bishop Okok was hospitalised three weeks ago after developing complications due to an accident he had at home. He fell down on his back last year and he has never be able to stand since the accident,” said Archbishop Anyolo by phone.
Bishop Emeritus OKwach was appointed to head the Homa Bay Diocese in 1993 where he served for nine years before resigning in 2002.
“He is my senior brother. I learned a lot from him before I succeeded from him,” said Archbishop Anyolo.
