A section of Luo Music Bank Forum members led by Godwin Olima, of West Asembo and Benard Odhiambo alias Tusker, on Sunday 28th July 2020 headed to Chiga – home to the departed Luo Musician Benard Onyango ‘Abenny Jachiga’ to comfort and console with the family days after he was laid to rest.

The late Bernard Onyango passed on untimely and his proceeding burial was marked with entanglements between his fans and the police hence denying his friends the opportunity to pay their last respect.

Until his demise, Abenny Jachiga was a strong member of Luo Music Bank Forum – an organization that provided a platform of interaction between music composers, writers, and producers. In appreciation of his contribution to the platform and to celebrate his life, a 14 members team representing the entire forum visited the bereaved family at his Chiga home.

Other people who went for the visit include former radio presenter Mary Wera, musicians; Madenji Perimeter, Elly Martin Jarumba, Otieno Small, and Omato Santos.

During the visit, the team had a lengthy conversation with late Ben’s wife Belinder, and other family members. They shared pieces of advice, encouragement, wise counsel, and offering both moral and spiritual support.

The team also provided an essential shopping budget worth Ksh.7,000 and a Ksh.10,000 cash donation to Ben’s widow.

Speaking on behalf of the group Benard Odhiambo Okome alias Odhiambo Tusker, asked Belinder (Ben’s widow) to take over her late husband’s band and songs to make sure the spirits and dreams of the late Ben in the music industry were enlivened.

According to Odhiambo Tusker, the move will also offer her an opportunity to take care of her siblings and to support herself.
