Amin Mohhamed, The New DCI Boss

Published:

Amin Mohamed Ibrahim, the head of the Internal Affairs Unit (IAU), was chosen to succeed George Kinoti, who resigned last month, as the next Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), thanks to his strong résumé and decades-long, scandal-free career as an investigator and manager.

“I would like to make a commitment to my fellow Kenyans that I will run the DCI in a professional manner, I will be firm and fair in the execution of my duties while ensuring that the Directorate adheres to the constitutional standards and fundamental freedoms,” Mr. Amin said after being appointed by president William Ruto to be the new DCI boss following the resignation of George Kinoti whose six-year term had not expired.

“vast experience in the field of investigations within and outside the Directorate will without doubt inject new blood to the country’s foremost investigative agency and address the ever changing crime dynamics. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations welcomes Mr. Amin Ibrahim Mohammed back home.” DCI wrote in a tweet to welcome their new boss.

“In exercise of the powers conferred, I, William Ruto, appoint Amin Mohamed to be the director, “the president stated upon the appointment.

Mr. Ibrahim will hold a position of influence in the nation as the head of the DCI. He will be in charge of several departments, including the Special Crime Prevention Unit, Banking Fraud Investigations Unit, Anti-Narcotics Unit, Bomb and Hazardous Disposal Unit, Anti-Terrorism Police Unit, and Cybercrime Investigation Unit.
