Malindi MP Aisha JUmwa has dismissed reports that she is plotting to quit the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party led by Deputy President William Ruto and join Azimio La Umoja movement under the leadership of Raila Odinga.
In a video she released on Friday evening and reshared on Saturday, Jumwa underscored her commitment to the UDA party and confirmed that she will never leave the outfit.
According to the MP, she has received numerous calls from a section of Kenyans questioning her political stand.
“I have received numerous calls that Aisha has left the UDA party. As you know, I don’t vomit and take in the same vomit again.
“My leadership is firm, I can’t be swayed here or there and be moved. I want to tell my Kilifi that I’m in UDA to stay. I am very loyal as a UDA founder member,” she said.
At the same time, Jumwa revealed that she had recovered from an ailment that left her bedridden in the last few days.
Reports of her missing in action at DP Ruto rallies in the recent days sparked speculations that she was planning to join the Azimio camp.
The outspoken legislator has already declared her interest in the Kilifi Gubernatorial seat in the forthcoming August polls.
