In advance of lawyer Miguna Miguna’s spectacular homecoming on October 20, 2022, a fundraiser is now taking place.
A poster with information on how to donate has been circulated online, encouraging Kenyans to gather money for Miguna’s return home.
Some Kenyans who came across the leaflet online viewed it with mistrust and contacted the attorney to ask about its veracity.
Miguna replied quickly, saying he exclusively works with “people of integrity” and that the fundraisers are not swindlers.
On October 20, 2022, at 6 am, Miguna is expected to fly back into the country and land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, according to an official announcement (JKIA).
After five years of struggles since his deportation to Canada in 2018 for taking part in the fictitious swearing-in ceremony of opposition leader Raila Odinga as the “People’s President” at Uhuru Park, he has now received his passport, putting an end to his troubles.
