Tanzanian music icon Omari Faraji Nyembo popularly known as Ommy Dimpoz has addressed netizens on why he abandoned his alleged biological father.
In a candid video he shared via his instagram page, Ommy explained what exactly transpired leading to the strained relationship with his said father. However, Ommy Dimpoz did not deny the fact that the man -identifying himself as Faraji Nyembo, is truly his father although he stated that he has never felt the presence of Mr. Nyembo in his entire life.
The singer was forced to speak after Mr. Nyembo approached a Tanzanian media house decrying lack of support from his son. It is this move that sparked controversies and reached Ommy’s attention.
“I don’t have anything I can credit to my father, not even a book. My father has like 15 children all of whom he has brought up but I was seen as an outsider. I have not had any closeness with my father so I don’t know him much,” Dimpoz stated.
The singer went on to narrate how losing his mother at an early age made him endure a hard life alone despite his father being alive. The father neither came to mourn with him during the loss nor even attended the burial. The experience, Dimpoz insisted, made him believe that children born out of wedlock are regarded as outsiders by society.
Speaking during his 35th birthday celebrations, Dimpoz advised parents to pay attention to their children and shower them with love, something he said he missed from his father.
“As I celebrate my birthday I have a message, and my message leans mostly on parents which directly affects me as it touches on my father. The most important thing you can give a child is love and care, whether you have money or not, that is the only thing I lacked in my life,” he added.
Ommy Dimpoz, who of late has been flaunting on his social media handles flying first-class to high end tourist destinations and living la vida loca, now warns his father against using his name to obtain favors, stating that he has no plans to rebuild their broken relationship.
