Nigerian gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu reportedly died from domestic violence, her husband was arrested as police suspects he killed her.
Osinanchi died at the age of 42 on April 8th in a hospital in Abuja, Nigeria. She passed on after a sustaining injuries from being beaten on her chest by her husband.
It was reported that Osinachi was in a very abusive marriage but she endured the abuse until her husband killed her on April 8th.
Apparently the late Nigerian gospel singer was afraid to speak out because of the stigma of being a divorcee in church.
Following Osinachi’s death, two divorced Kenyan singer and a handful others have since come out women to walk out of their marriages if their spouses are abusive.
“My heart bleeds for this soul. Minister Osinachi, Rest. Ladies! Men! What if the shame of “what will they say…” is your healing in disguise? listen, is your life at risk? DONT WAIT TO DIE! Thank God I’m alive, happy and loved,” wrote Gloria Muliro.
Gloria Muliro divorced her ex husband pastor Eric Omba after six years of marriage. She got married to the Congolese in 2009 in a colorful wedding.
The Kenyan gospel singer walked out of her marriage with Omba in 2015 citing infidelity and mistreatment and didn’t look back even after her ex husband persistently tried to salvage the marriage.
Gloria Muliro remarried in October 2021, she married her current husband Evans Sabwami in New York, US days after holding another ceremony in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.
Another divocee Kenyan gospel singer Betty Bayo also came out to implore married women to walk out of abusive marriages following Osinachi’s death.
“Devoted Christians suffer abusive marriages mostly coz they don’t believe in divorce bcos they preach against it. To them….it will get better and won’t last forever until they die inside the abusive marriage.
“Dear women, learn to dust yourself and move out from anything called abusive marriage. Marriage isn’t a do-or-die affair. Stop suffering and smiling. What people will say shouldn’t make you die inside nonsense. Who you marry should be better than the marriage itself,” wrote Betty Bayo.
Betty Bayo divorced her ex husband pastor Victor Kanyari in 2015 after three years of marriage.
She married her current husband Hiram Gitau in Kikuyu traditional wedding ceremony held on December 17th 2021.
