The Day Blood Thirsty Mungiki Wanted To Kill William Ruto Like A Fly

Published:

Billionaire businessman Jimi Wanjigi has given a blow by blow account of how deputy president William Samoei Ruto almost lost his life to the Mungiki gang.

While speaking during the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) National Delegates Conference (NDC), Jimi Wanjigi revealed the close friendship he had with William Samoei Ruto many years ago.

He disclosed how the outlawed Mungiki sect was baying for William Ruto’s blood which forced the deputy president to seek refuge in his house since he feared for his life in the wake of the disputed 2007 presidential results.

“President and I met. We were introduced by former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter. In 2007, there were some fellows looking for my friend DP Ruto but he came to hide in my house,” he stated.

“To be frank, there was an organization, here in Nairobi called Mungiki and he came to hide in my house and seek shelter,” Wanjigi continued.

Wanjigi also added that he is the one who pleaded with William Ruto to support the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga in the 2007 General Election.

“I’m the one who instructed Ruto to help Raila in 2007 as he had been left out of the 2002 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). In 2010, he came to inform me that the same person whom he supported (Raila) was taking him to the Hague. He alongside Isaac Ruto urged me to help them get out of the situation,” he added.
