Churchill Show has left NTV after nearly 15 years, Daniel Ndambuki alias Churchill is taking the comedy show to a different TV station altogether.
Churchill Show aired exclusively on NTV from 2007 to 2016 when the comedian inked a deal to have the comic show also air on DSTV’s on Maisha Magic East.
The partnership deal between Maisha Magic East and Daniel Ndambuki in July 2016 allowed the channel to broadcast Churchill Show on a weekly basis – Saturdays at 8.30 pm.
Ndambuki is now taking his comedy show to a new TV station after he terminated his partnership with Nation Media Group’s NTV to seek a new partnership with another media house.
Kenyans reported that a source aware of the situation said that Churchill Show’s parent company, Laugh Industries, was seeking a partnership with TV47.
However, details of the partnership have not yet been made public. Further, reports indicated that Churchill Show and TV47 are still in negotiations and there were numerous agreements that need to be reached.
Reports had revealed that Churchill Show will be taping at Mount Kenya University (MKU) in early March as they plan to relaunch the whole show on TV47.
If the partnership with TV47 comes to fruition, then Daniel Ndambuki would have made a terrible blunder.
He should replace NTV with another station that is better or at per with it in terms of viewership, but TV47 is not among the most watched TV stations in Kenya.
Media Council of Kenya (MCK) on January 31st 2022 released a report on the most watched and listened to TV and radio stations for the year 2021.
In the report dubbed the State of the Media 2021, MCK ranked the TV and radio stations based on a research carried out by the organization.
Citizen TV emerged as the most watched television station in Kenya, registering a 78% popularity among the respondents. It was closely followed by KTN Home (31%) and NTV (27%).
Taking Churchill Show to TV47 instead of Citizen TV or even KTN is a TERRIBLE blunder by Daniel Ndambuki, it could turn out to be a very costly mistake.
