Hussein Mohammed Reveals His Close Relationship With DP Ruto

Published:

Celebrated TV personality Hussein Mohammed has opened up about his close relationship with Deputy President William Ruto and the reason behind his appointment as his head of communications.

The former news anchor was recently appointed head of the communications in DP William Ruto’s campaign team.

Hussein disclosed that he accepted the job because of the work ethic of DP Ruto and the practical promise of the bottom-up economic model.

“I was attracted to this team by the personal brilliance of the DP, and the practical promise of the bottom-up economic policy that he champions,” he said.

Hussein also revealed the reason behind him leaving a well-paying job at the Royal Media services stating he was getting too comfortable and felt it was time for a change.

“I was getting too comfortable, so I thought about it for a while and decided to thrust myself into a life of discomfort. It was time; I could feel it in my gut. It just wasn’t as thrilling anymore for me. As time went by I realised you could only do so much in the media if you wanted to change the country for the better. I had to pursue other interests. Looking back, I thank God for making that decision,” Hussein in an interview with a local daily.

The talent news anchor left the much celebrated media house after ten years of service to his paymasters.

“I have decided to take a break after October In Sha Allah to concentrate on other matters. Loved the fans, the critics & everything in between. See you soon,” Hussein posted on his Twitter page while announcing his exit back in 2019.

Hussein replaced Dennis Itumbi at the helm of Communications in DP Ruto’s camp.
