Ruto Quickly Losing His Potential 2022 Financiers Than He Anticipated

Published:

Kirinyaga woman rep Purity Wangui Ngirici wants nothing to do with deputy president William Ruto and won’t be backing his United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

While speaking in Gichugu and Mwea constituencies, she made it clear that she will vie for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial position but not under William Ruto’s UDA party.

According to her, she is confident of winning the Kirinyaga top seat in 2022 even as an independent candidate.

“Those who did not work and plan to hide behind political parties should know that it is not the party that will be elected. You are the one who we do not want because you are a thief and the people of Kirinyaga know that,” she stated.

“In 2022, I will not stand with any political party. I will seek to be elected as a governor, as an individual, and I’m confident that I will sail through,” the Woman Rep continued.

With regards to why she decided to abandon Ruto’s party, she clarified that “party owners” had on several occasions pushed her to withdraw from the race and back Ann Waiguru.

In the meantime, the Kirinyaga woman rep recently reminded her counterpart governor Ann Waiguru to carry her own cross of corruption without dragging their United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

Wangui Ngirici was referring to the corruption allegations facing the Kirinyaga governor where she reminded her that it had nothing to do with her new move of joining the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

“When anti graft agencies strike, don’t blame it on joining UDA.We have built the party from scratch.” She told Waiguru

The two women who are both eyeing the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat in 2022 have not been seeing eye to eye.

Even after Waiguru joined the UDA party from Jubilee, Wangui Ngirici welcomed the governor to Ruto’s camp but gave her a stern warning that she is still determined to go for her seat and be the next Kirinyaga governor.

As a result, the philanthropic Wangui Ngirici promised to not only win the general elections but to also defeat Ann Waiguru with a landslide at the UDA nomination stage.

“There are about 10 people who have declared their interest in the gubernatorial race, and I know I will be joined by others in UDA, so I would like to say karibu to UDA to Governor Waiguru, that is where the future is. What she didn’t see, I saw many years ago. I knew what the people wanted,” said Ngirici.

“The governor lost her ground a long time ago, immediately after she was elected, so it (her defection) doesn’t change anything. Actually, it just gives me less competition, because after nominations – and I know I will beat her – I’ll go and compete with fewer people.” She added.

Known for her deep pockets, DP Ruto might have just lost one of the potential financier that could have helped him strengthen his UDA party in the Mt. Kenya region.
