Uganda is sadly now on the radar after a Coronavirus(COVID-19) case has been confirmed in the country.
Sheila Nduhukire was the one bearing the sad news on social media after she shared about the confirmed Coronavirus case in the country.
Apparently, one Ugandan male from Dubai who boarded an Ethiopian Airlines recorded a temperature of 38.7 degrees during the screening process.
The man who is from Kibulu, Kakungulu Zone has since been isolated to Entebbe Grade B with the authorities keeping close contact with him.
His samples were taken to the Uganda Virus Research Institute where the patient whose identity has been withheld tested positive.
This is the first Coronavirus, COVID-19 reported in Uganda after Kenya, and Tanzania reporting cases of Coronavirus, COVID-19 respectively.
The good news is at least the passenger’s manifest has been retrieved and every other person he might have been in contact with him is known.
“The passenger’s manifest has been retrieved and all contacts are known as we are in possession of the passports of all the travelers that came on that plane” Minister of Health, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng said.
