Eight people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a student by the name Clinton Omoke.
Mr Omoke was killed on the night of April 7th, 2019 at about 3 am. He was brutally murdered by a known, lethal gang that operates in Uyoma East Location, Madiany sub-county, Siaya.
Records show that Clinton had just arrived from Mombasa on the material day, where he was a student at NITA College. He had been residing in Mombasa since January 2019.
Kapedo gang
The village gang, known as KAPEDO, came to the late home in the wee hours and brutally attacked his mother and killed the son instantly.
Among the arrested are Erick Ochieng alas Owila Omungi, Peter Oyango alas Onyango Nyawanda, Vincent Nyawanda alas Nelly Yona ,and Erick Oduor alas Omulo Otunge. Others are David Odhiambo alas Jalago Lazaro, Elvis Otieno Obonyo, Odhiambo Lazaro and Dan Ajimba.
The gang stole Clinton’s phone, laptop and other valuables. Gang leader Felix John Ochieng’ who planned the killing was not arrested by the time the arrest was made. He is rumored to have police connection and got a hint of ongoing operation but many of his gang got arrested.
Close family members said the suspects who murdered the boy are residents of the area and must face the full force of the law.
“Suspects who killed the young man are people in this community. Let us avoid protecting criminals. The main sponsor is known wannabe politician from Kokwir Uyoma promise to get them out of jail no matter what ”
He urged political leaders in the county to team up in ending crime in the region. Since killing the boy the gang has killed more than three and nothing has been done. Rarieda.com did not get hold of the late brothers, sisters or parents for comments.
