Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho is in the process of divorcing his estranged wife Madina Giovanni Fazzini whom the general public didn’t even know about.
Joho has always kept his love life off the public domain, not much is known about his wife, children and/or even family.
Well, Joho had a wife called Madina Giovanni Fazzini but their marriage didn’t work out and she moved to Kadha court in Mombasa in January 2022 to file for divorce.

- Wedding
Joho and Madina got married on 11th February 2011 when he was still MP for Kisauni. The Muslim weddin was a low key affair that was only attended by family and close friends.
2. Children
Madina and Joho have two children together now aged 8 and 9. She however became a foster mother to Joho’s two other children from another relationship.
3. Troubled marriage
Madina and Joho’s marriage failed the test of time. Cracks started emerging in January 2013 when the Mombasa governor moved to a different living quarter.
In June 2013, Joho ultimately moved out of his matrimonial home and left Madina and the kids alone.
4. Divorce
Madina petitioned the Kadhi court Mombasa in January 2022 to dissolve her marriage to Joho stressing that there is no hope or possibility of reconciliation whatsoever.
“Since the respondent moved out of matrimonial home in June 2013 the substance of our marriage has dissipated and has no basis to be sustained from a legal and/or social standpoint. It is obvious that there is no hope or possibility of reconciliation or compromise of whatever nature or kind between myself and the respondent,” Madina said in her affidavit.
5. Madina’s roots
Did you notice Madina has an Italian name “Giovanni”? Well, Unknown to many, Joho’s estranged wife is born to an Italian father and Somali mother. Her full birth name is Madina Giovanni Fazzini.
6. Mobilizer
Even though Madina took back seat in politics, she is a great mobilizer who campaigned for Joho especially among female voters. She also managed Joh’s foundation at one point.
7. Madina’s education
Madina is a businesswoman who holds Masters in Business Administration (MBA). After separating with Joho, she embarked on business endeavors to support her children.
8. Polyglot
Madina is a multilingual speaker – a polyglot (a person who learn multiple languages as a hobby). According to multiple sources, it is believed that she can fluently speak at least seven languages.
